Insight West Africa

West African economies have grown rapidly

Changing demographics, growth trends, large-scale urbanization, improved economic fundamentals, and an ever transforming socio-political and regulatory landscape support the thesis that the time to invest in West Africa is now. West African economies present significant opportunities for companies and private investors.

Within West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire has recently emerged as an economic powerhouse with the highest regional annual GDP growth of 8.7 % between 2012 and 2018 (World Bank, 2018) and is on the top ten African countries with the fastest growing economies (IMF and AfDB’s World Economic Outlook, 2019). Côte d’Ivoire is a regional hub in West Africa and a gateway to French and English speaking business. Political normalization, budget and policy support, debt reduction, and reforms to strengthen the business climate have led to an impressive acceleration of economic activity in Côte d’Ivoire since 2012. Our Doing Business Report about Côte d'Ivoire gives you more insight about opportunities in the ivorian market.
